Flower Power Inspiration

Flower Power Inspiration

Many grand houses or palaces have amazing landscaped gardens, people in towns, window boxes or indoor plants,

Many artists have painted flowers or gardens...to name but a few,Monet,VanGogh,David Hockney,Frida  Kahlo,Marianne North.William Morris designed wall paper, and floral prints abound for furnishings and fabrics.

Cultivating flowers can be hours of pleasure, watching flowers and trees grow from cuttings or seeds, changing through the seasons, adding color and beauty to the environment, giving hours of pleasure.

In recent months, anyone with a garden was lucky to be in touch with nature,to enjoy fresh air,to eat outdoors, swim in a pool.I have a very small yard and garden, but many in my area don't have a garden, and the town doesnt have open spaces,to walk or trees, just a small square with shrubs: this made life difficult for some incarcerated at home with no outdoor space to enjoy.Being outdoors is essential especially in the summer.

I once had a book on a birthday about Marianne North.Marianne was born in 1830,Hastings,UK,she lived till sixty.Dressed in crinolines she traveled the world, passionately painting every type of flower. She  traveled through Australia,New Zealand,India,Ceylon, the Amazon;trecked through jungles, paddled down rivers,to find rare species to paint. Her work is housed in Kew  Gardens In the Marianne North Gallery. She displays over a thousand paintings.Kee has every species of flower, tree and shrub in the world,in acres of ground in Richmond, near London.

Some artists paint murals of gardens or flowers in towns.our small town has recently added huge tubs of flowers outside shops and houses to brighten our lives.

So lets post images, videos, music, artists who painted flowers, gardens to brighten our gray winter months.
