Naima comes from Detroit one of the most dangerous cities in the world.
The statistics of being a victim of violent crime in Detroit are the highest in the United States,and the future for many is/ was bleak.
Many of her high school friends were either murdered or became pregnant at an early age,and she saw no escape from her situation?She even had a gun held at her head as a victim of crime.
She began work as a waitress in a coffee bar.A talent scout saw her and asked if she would like to enter a competition.The competition was...Americas Next Top Model.
She was chosen out of 2000 entrants to be in the tv show.the show went to South African and they visited the prison where Nelson Mandela had been co fined for Twenty years.The group of would be modelswere asked who would like to open the cell Of Nelson Mandela,they all fell silent but Naima jumped at the opportunity,and took the heavy metal key that had locked up thousands of prisonersShe realized this was her inspiration and hope for a working class girl from Detroit to win the completion.
